Fuwa Beijing Olympic Mascot

Fuwa is the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games mascot. The Chinese pinyin for Fuwa is fu(2)wa(2). Fu(2) means blessing and wa(2) means dolls, so Fuwa means blessing dolls. There are five Beijing Olympic Mascots and each of them represent a Chinese fengshui elements :
  • Beibei represents water
  • Jingjing represents wood
  • Huanhuan represents fire
  • Yingying represents earth
  • Nini represents metal
Together they are read Bei(3)jing(1) Huan(1)ying(2) Ni(3). It means Beijing welcomes you . This is why i like about Chinese culture, everything has its own meaning and philosophy. My favorite fuwa is Beibei, because i like blue and Beibei represents prosperity. How about you? Beijing Olympics do reminds me about holiday in China.
